Today is August 1st, 2008, a total solar eclipse day...
A total solar eclipse is when the moon passes in front of the sun and blocks it completely. This is an amazing sight with a strange coincidence. The coincidence is that both look the same size in the sky. Scientifically a solar eclipse occurs when the Moon comes in between the Sun and the Earth. The most important part is that if you ever want to view an eclipse, the first thing is that you must never view the sun with the naked eye or with any optical device, such as binoculars or a telescope! It is proved that at least two and up to five solar eclipses occur each year on earth.
